Cover up chips and cracks in your teeth

Strengthen damaged teeth with a colour-matched veneer

Have your teeth sustained so much wear and tear over the years that you’ve lost confidence in your smile? If that’s the case, it might be time to think about restoring your smile. The appearance of cracks, chips, and discolouration in your teeth can be improved through veneers.

Veneers are created using ceramic materials, which are colour-matched to your teeth and then bonded to them to cover any damage. They should make your teeth appear restored and without visible problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions about veneers answered

  • What is a veneer?

Just as false nails cover up nail damage, a veneer is a layer of material that is placed over a tooth to cover up chips, cracks, or discolouration. Veneers should improve the aesthetics of your smile.

  • Will I be able to brush my teeth with veneers?

Yes. Your dentist will advise you on how best to brush them and take care of them.

  • How durable are veneers?

Veneers can last for up to 10-15 years.

  • How will my teeth look with veneers fitted?

Veneers are fitted to the front teeth. And should look entirely natural, your teeth will appear to be undamaged.

  • I don’t know if I need a veneer or a crown

When you visit us for your consultation, we’ll advise you on whether a veneer or a crown is more appropriate, depending on how much of your original tooth is damaged. Crowns are used when the damage is severe.

  • What happens when you have a veneer fitted?

Your tooth will need to be shaped prior to having the veneer fitted. This will involve a small bit of enamel being remove from the tooth surface. A mould of the tooth will also be made to ensure the sliver of porcelain used is precisely the right size. When the veneer itself has been crafted, it will be bonded to your tooth.
